Dr. Zeni furthered his dental education by completing a hospital residency in general dentistry at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Dr. Zeni has a "specialty" Master's Degree in Periodontics. This was obtained by completing a two year residency at the University of Iowa Dental College. The two year residency included intensive course and clinical study, the completion of original research and writing of a Master's thesis in the area of Periodontics. To become a licensed specialist, a 2 day written and oral exam, given by the State of Michigan, must be passed.
A specialist is differentiated from a general dentist by this additional 2 years intensive study and by the passing of a special state exam and the resultant licensure.
Dr. Zeni has served as president and is currently a member of the Cloverland District of the Michigan Dental Association. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, and Midwest Society of Periodontology.
